Find your way through Melbourne
mapsmaze is a free map puzzle game on the real streets of Melbourne. Study the map for a few seconds, then find your way to the address from memory, junction by junction, like a maze made of a real city.

Where you play
Letters in Melbourne start in the CBD, on the Hoddle Grid, on the city's real street map from OpenStreetMap.
Melbourne's streets
Melbourne's centre is the Hoddle Grid: wide streets in a neat rectangle, with narrow 'little' streets between them and laneways cutting through the blocks. The laneways can save you a lot, or lead you into a dead end.
How a round goes
- Study the map. You see the streets of Melbourne, where you start and where the letter goes, for a few seconds.
- Walk it from memory. The map goes away and you're in the street, at street level. Choose a street at each junction and run to the next one.
- Deliver the letter. Points for a direct route and a quick one; every peek back at the map costs 50.

New players pick 3 cities to start with, so you can choose Melbourne straight away. Delivering letters earns stamps, which open more cities. The daily letter, the same for everyone, is set in one of the game's cities, and it could be this one.
